walk through the doors of 2021
Happy 2021!
I know we are all so glad to see the end of 2020 and to welcome the new year and new possibilities that it will bring. Despite the challenges, it remained a busy year for all of us, and I enjoyed partnering with many of you. I look forward to continuing to work together to create meaningful and beautiful photographs in 2021.
As we enter the new year, we will open many new doors for ourselves and have others opened for us. These doorways lead to new opportunities, and we must make the decision of whether or not to walk through. My advice to you — open and walk through as many doors as possible to discover the opportunities that await.
I opened a new door for myself this past year as I focused on the operations and marketing aspects of my business. I took time to redesign my website and logo with the help of a great team, and I participated in a number of online business and marketing classes to hone my skills. I walked through a new door and seized a new opportunity to better myself and my business. This year, I’m excited to put it all to use to bring even better results for my team, clients and partners.
In appreciation for MLK Day, I would like to share a quotation of his that inspires me to continue pursuing new opportunities for betterment:
“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do
you have to keep moving forward.” - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Dr. King's words resonate especially with me in this new year as they remind us to continue to make small changes and do whatever we can to keep building upon who we are and focusing on what we believe is important for ourselves and others. As we continue to look inward to improve ourselves and our communities, it's also comforting to add beauty to our surroundings to welcome our families and others into our homes.
There are some small changes you can make in the entryways of your home to make it more inviting to you and your guests, although right now the only other person seeing it might just be the Amazon delivery guy!
Simple efforts, such as a new plant in an interesting pot or a fresh branch from your yard, can be a great conversation piece while also making your home feel more full of life to your family and visitors. Additionally, larger changes like installing a unique door or exciting wallpaper in the entryway is a great way to show your individual style and make your house memorable and welcoming.
As this new year brings its doors of opportunity, I hope you are able to open and walk through as many of them as possible. Create as many new possibilities for yourself as you can, and I will welcome the chance to walk through them with you, your team and your clients in 2021!
Happy MLK Day and Happy New Year,
